About Us
Joni Bokenfohr:
My interest in helping children with disabilities started in high school where I volunteered in a classroom tutoring a delayed student. My interest grew in University while I completed my education degree, and I worked for YWCA as a respite worker. I am very excited to be developing programs that will aid teachers with balance and harmony in their classrooms. I am very interested to provide services which will improve the lives of all special needs individuals.
Sheila Chisholm:
My interest in special needs started in junior high and high school, where I supervised a segregated learning classroom during lunch hour. I soon developed a passion and desire to change the way society interacts with those in the disabled community. When I started my family, I began to work for Transitions doing respite work, community aid, and as a host family for children with special needs. I discovered a connection with autistic children and a deep desire to learn more. I joined Family Linkages Foundation for Autism, now known as the Centre for Autism Services Alberta, and began my journey as a behavior interventionist. I have had the privilege of working on a Program Unit Funded Team in the St. Albert Protestant School Division.
